BEE DATES AND TIMES 

The 2025 SAGE Ventura County Spelling Bee is a two-part event.

PRELIMINARIES 

Monday, February 24 through Friday, February 28, 2025 

This is a VIRTUAL event hosted on the Scripps’ Online Testing Platform.  

All enrolled school spelling bee champions will take a county-level spelling and vocabulary test on the Scripps’ Online Testing Platform.

PRELIMINARIES must be proctored by the school spelling bee coordinator (or their designee) and completed in a school environment. 

The top 15 to 20 scoring spellers will advance to the Finals (see below).

FINALS – Oral Rounds 

Saturday, March 22, 2025 10 a.m. to finish (no later than 4:30 p.m.)  

This is an IN-PERSON event hosted at the Ventura County Office of Education. 

The top 15 to 20 highest scoring champions from the PRELIMINARIES are invited to compete in the in-person FINALS.
