In this webinar, the authors of Culturally Responsive Teaching Online and In Person, Stephanie Smith Budhai and Kristine Lewis Grant,  share ways K-12 teachers can maximize students’ cultural capital and assets to support their learning in online and in-person learning environments. The content in this session can be used by K-12 teachers to build the knowledge, awareness, skills, and dispositions to pivot instruction to facilitate equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist learning experiences that transcend cultural, social, and linguistic backgrounds.

You'll learn to:

  • Reframe their mindset towards growth that takes into account the diverse lived experiences of all learners, their families, and communities
  • Eliminate deficit thinking and provide every learner, in every educational setting, the ability to connect with the curriculum in authentic and equitable ways
  • Employ strengths-based pedagogical approaches across learning modalities
