Lisa Riggs joined Gresham-Barlow School District, outside Portland, Oregon in 2018 as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Prior to Oregon, Riggs was the Associate Superintendent of Academics/Chief Academic Officer for San Antonio Independent School District in Texas and the executive director of gifted and talented/advanced academics for Washoe County School District in Nevada. Before entering district level administration, Riggs held principalships at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and was a teacher, coach, and coordinator. Riggs received her Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Washington State University, a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from University of Victoria, B.C. , and an additional Masters degrees in Curriculum, and Instruction. She is currently working towards a doctorate from San Diego State University in Educational Leadership with a concentration in PK-12.
