Scripps National Spelling Bee’s Online Testing Platform

Developed by the Scripps National Spelling Bee, the Online Testing Platform is designed to allow SAGE to host Part One of the SAGE Ventura County Spelling Bee safely and securely via a virtual exam.

• Register for the Online Testing Platform: https://online-test.spellingbee.com
• Already Registered? If you have already registered your speller for the online testing platform to take part in classroom-, grade- or school-level online exams, you can use the same account to take our sponsor-level test.
• Not Registered? If you do not already have an account for your child in the online testing platform, you will receive an email from the Scripps National Spelling Bee, requesting that you verify the online testing platform account that was automatically created for your student.
  • You can do this by visiting https://online-test.spellingbee.com/resetpassword, entering the email address used to create the online testing platform account and creating a new password for the account.
  • Once you have verified your child’s account, we will be able to assign the online test to your child.

When spellers are ready to take the test during the available window, they must read the Integrity Pledge and click “accept.”

They should take the sample test first to get comfortable with the format which will include clicking the sound icon to hear pronunciations from the Bee pronouncer, Dr. Jacques Bailly.

Complete the sound test to ensure speller can hear any audio files.

After the final question, spellers can review their answers and make changes as required before submitting the completed test.

Once the test window closes, you will be able to log in at online-test.spellingbee.com and review your speller’s score report.
