This is an excellent resource for teaching learners with mathematical difficulties. I find it a very helpful resource for the children I work with as senco/specialist teacher and in my role as lecturer on the MA dyslexia course.

This is an accessible book or the busy practitioner looking for solutions and strategies to use with low level achievers in maths / numeracy. Firstly I like the format. A4 size allows for a better layout and plenty of "white space" in the uncluttered presentation.

Really delighted with this book. Such clear and in depth unpicking of aspects of number in very clear sections. Good background on dyscalculia etc too. Slightly annoyed by repeated refs to another text, the 'Dyscalulia Toolkit'.

As a home tutor as well I have some students having difficulty with maths - this has helped and I have recommended to parents so they can understand the difficulties their child is having. I have also recommended it to some of my students who are teaching numeracy.
This is a very useful publication, with plenty of practical ideas for use in the classroom and one-to-one. The CD-ROM enables the user to download templates for a wide range of games and activities, saving time and effort. The maths difficulties are explained briefly at the beginning of each chapter and progression is logical and clearly set out. This is a most useful tool for anyone supporting pupils who have difficulties with mathematics.
