The '4 Pack' Simultaneous Learning Institute focuses on providing educators with the terminology of the various hybrid learning models and provides guidance on how to successfully engage both the students in front of them and the students at home at the same time. This series consists of four 90-minute sessions that cover: Clarity and Planning for Simultaneous Learning, Routines and Procedures That Integrate Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning, Engagement and Motivation in Simultaneous Learning, and Accelerating Learning.

The Assessment of Learning from a Distance Institute explores the role of assessment as it pertains to the landscape of distance learning. Led by authors of The Assessment Playbook in Distance & Blended Learning, this institute will explore new tools and formats that teachers can use to assess students’ understanding. These new ways of assessing learning will impact schooling for years to come as they are better and more authentic than many of the tools we had been using before the pandemic.

Based on Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, and John Hattie's title, The Distance Learning Playbook, this Institute, led by Vince Bustamante and Yana Ioffe, provides a clear plan for educators to be intentional and purposeful as we begin to re-open schools—whether that be physically or remotely. Building on key insights of the Visible Learning® research, attendees will explore the implementation of distance learning teaching practices that focus on credibility, creating learning experiences that are meaningful, and feedback that increases impact.
