The Assessment of Learning from a Distance Institute provides ample strategies that address the questions: “how can I engage in quality assessment of student learning from a distance?” and “how can we leverage our experiences in distance learning to enhance assessment in any setting?” Unfortunately, not all assessments that were used in a traditional learning environment can work in a distance and blended learning environment, so this workshop outlines what assessments CAN work in any setting.

The Assessment of Learning from a Distance Institute explores the role of assessment as it pertains to the landscape of distance learning. Led by authors of The Assessment Playbook in Distance & Blended Learning, this institute will explore new tools and formats that teachers can use to assess students’ understanding. These new ways of assessing learning will impact schooling for years to come as they are better and more authentic than many of the tools we had been using before the pandemic.
