George Kapalka is a board-certified clinical psychologist, a licensed mental health counselor, and a certified school psychologist. He holds additional board certifications in child mental health services, learning disabilities, and psychopharmacology. For over 20 years, he is an active clinician who primarily treats children and adolescents with problem behaviors.
Sandra N. Kaplan has been a teacher and administrator of gifted programs in an urban school district in California. Currently, she is clinical professor in learning and instruction at the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education. She has authored articles and books on the nature and scope of differentiated curriculum for gifted students.
Eric Karnowski is a senior mathematics associate at Education Development Center (EDC) in Massachusetts. He has worked in mathematics education for 25 years, initially as a teacher, then as a textbook editor, and finally as a curriculum developer and teacher professional development provider. Since joining EDC, he has directed the development of the K–5 program Think Math!
Michelle S. Karns, MPA, is an educational consultant with over 30 years’ experience in school support and reform, including speaking before the United Nations at the World Conference on Children in 1995. Working with students, administrators, and teachers in districts through the United States and Canada, Michelle helps create the conditions for all students to learn and makes academic success complemented by social and emotional health a reality.
