CFA 2.0 Workshops

Using the CFA 2.0 process, grade-level or course-level teacher teams collaboratively create unit-based assessments to assess student understanding of learning intentions derived from state or Common Core standards. The process allows teachers to intentionally align their pre- and post-assessments and use the resulting student feedback as diagnostic data to adjust and differentiate instruction.

Learning Outcomes for 4-Day Workshop:

  • Create a first-draft using the CFA 2.0 design steps
  • Learn the fundamentals for designing a CFA
  • Build the "highway" to aligned assessments
  • Decide the learning intentions and student success criteria for a unit of study
  • Evaluate and revise assessment questions for quality
  • Plan the learning progressions for students to attain the learning intensions
  • Create quick progress checks to coincide with the learning progressions
  • Plan for next steps using the success criteria for effective implementation of common formative assessments
