Yana has been an Orff Music Specialist, a District Curriculum and Instruction Consultant, a Leadership Coach, a Rounds Facilitator, a TLC Trainer, and a Vice Principal and Principal in diverse communities. Currently, Yana is a Faculty Advisor at Nipissing University working with Teacher Candidates, and a Professional Learning Consultant with Corwin Press.

A faculty member in teacher education at San Diego State University and an instructional coach in the San Diego Unified School District, Dr. Kelly Johnson devotes much of her work to literacy teaching and learning in classrooms. A Nationally Board Certified teacher, Kelly is interested in the teaching and learning connection that results from teacher modeling, productive group work, formative assessment, and student engagement.

She earned her MA in curriculum and instruction under the guidance of Dr. Doug Fisher and Dr. Diane Lapp from San Diego State University and is BLCAD certified.

Roa, Meg

Meg Roa

Meg Roa, a 30-year veteran educator with experience across all K-12 levels as a classroom teacher, literacy coach and district administrator, joined Corwin’s professional learning team in 2018. She is a certified consultant for the Visible Learning+ series and other areas such as Teacher Clarity, Success Criteria and Visible Learning for Literacy.
