Planned Outage: December 29 - January 3

Thank you for your interest in SAGE materials. On Thursday, December 29 at 4:00 p.m. GMT (11:00 a.m. EST / 8:00 a.m. PST), we will be performing major enhancements to our website support systems. During the enhancement period, our online ordering systems and SAGE online account tools will be temporarily unavailable. We anticipate this planned outage will take approximately five days to perform, ending on Tuesday, January 3 at 3:00 p.m. GMT (10:00 a.m. EST / 7:00 a.m. PST).

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and thank you for your patience as we continue to improve our services. If you require immediate assistance, would like to request a complimentary review copy of a textbook, or would like to purchase any of our products, please contact us.

Instructors and students currently using a SAGE textbook will have continued access to the textbook’s online resources without interruption.

Textbook Online Resources / Companion Websites

I am currently teaching a course using a SAGE textbook. Will I be able to access my instructor teaching site during the outage period? Will my students be able to access their student study site?

  • Existing users will be able to continue to access the online resources without interruption. The ability to update profile information will be disabled. 
  • Your students’ access to the student study site will also be available without interruptions.
  • New account creation will be available on or after January 3, upon completion of our systems enhancement process.

I am currently teaching a course using a SAGE textbook. If I forget the password for my instructor teaching site, will I be able to use the “Forgotten password” tool via my instructor teaching site during the outage period?

  • Yes, if you forget your instructor teaching site password, you will be able to use the “Forgotten password” tool without interruptions.

Please note: if you reset your password using the “Forgotten password” tool on your instructor teaching site during the outage dates, you will be prompted to reset your password once again AFTER the outage.

I have not yet set up access to my textbook’s instructor teaching site. Will I be able to set up a new SAGE online account to gain first-time access to my instructor teaching site during the outage period?

  • You will be able to set up your new account on or after January 3, upon completion of our systems enhancement process.

SAGE Online Account / Password Reset

I have a SAGE online account through sagepub.com. Will I be able to access my account, update my profile preferences, or reset my password during the outage period?

  • SAGE online account holders will be able to reset their passwords during the outage.
  • SAGE online account holders will be able to access their account and update their profiles AFTER the outage period on January 3.

I have a SAGE online account through sagepub.com. Will I need to reset my password once the systems enhancement is completed?

  • If you did not reset your password after December 15, when you return to sagepub.com or when you visit your textbook’s instructor teaching site, you will be prompted to reset your password in order to access your SAGE online account and / or your textbook’s online resources.

I have a SAGE Journals subscription. Will I need to reset my journal subscription account password in order to access my journal?

  • If you access your journal subscription through Atypon, you will not need to do anything as a result of this outage.
  • If you have a SAGE online account via sagepub.com, you will be prompted to reset your password upon visiting your account’s login page after the outage period.
