Very clearly written book, great activities and further recommended reading
A vital piece of the trainee teachers' toolkit, this book, like others in the range, remain valuable to those embarking on a teaching and learning career even as the qualifications themselves face changes. Highly recommended.
Provides information at a basic level which can be useful for people returning to learning. Is not as comprehensive as other books such as Reece & Walker. It is OK as a starting point if learners are struggling with more academic literature.
A superb book that breaks theory and good practice themes down into understandable text.
We have several copies in our library and the book is recommended as 'well worth buying' to all our PTLLS students.
Very beneficial as it's assisting me throughout my PTLLS course. I am referring to Anne Gravells within my assignments and find her easy referencing easy to work with.
I think that this book is a useful tool for students who have not been in the teaching environment before.
It is related to the different assignment briefs and provides examples and activities that provoke reflective thought.
We are running a short course on basic teaching for members of our Participation Programme who work with students on the BA Hons Social Work course. This will be essential reading for the Programme members. Fantastic book!
